Respiratory Care Associate

Position Overview
The Respiratory Care Associate is responsible for delivering respiratory therapy services across various non-critical and adult critical care environments as directed by the medical staff. This role encompasses a range of procedures including, but not limited to, mechanical ventilation (BIPAP), oxygen therapy, patient assessments, chest physiotherapy, and aerosol therapy. The practitioner will also perform CPR, administer aerosolized medications, and therapeutic gases, as well as draw, analyze, and interpret blood gases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control and maintenance on blood gas and co-oximetry equipment.
- Exercise independent judgment in making respiratory care decisions while adhering to hospital policies.
- Supervise and mentor respiratory care students during their clinical rotations.
- Report relevant information through the appropriate channels within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
- Possession of a California Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
- Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- National Provider ACLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Relevant clinical experience in respiratory therapy, complemented by knowledge in physiology and pharmacology.
