As a key member of the athletic department staff, this individual will provide medical coverage to intercollegiate athletic teams, ensuring the health and well-being of student-athletes.
Responsibilities- Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in all aspects of intercollegiate athletic team coverage for 18 sports.
- Provide medical care, including prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and referral of athletic injuries.
- Communicate effectively with sports medicine staff, team physicians, and department administration.
- Manage claim forms, purchase medical supplies, and update the Sports Medicine website.
- Serve as secondary contact for NCAA drug testing and provide athletic training clinic services.
- Maintain compliance with NCAA, Southern Conference, and Virginia Military Institute rules and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in the Sports Medicine/Athletic Training field.
- Master's degree preferred in Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, or a related field.
