Job Description

Save Lives, Prevent Injuries

The National Safety Council is a leading advocate for safety in the workplace and beyond. As a non-profit organization, our mission is to eliminate preventable deaths and injuries. We are seeking a Part-Time Instructor to teach our Defensive Driving Course (DDC) to adults and teens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach classroom courses on safe driving practices to a variety of motorists, including those required to attend a mandatory driver retraining program.
  • Lead effective classroom discussions and handle diverse groups of students.
  • Provide full instructor certification training and materials to qualified candidates.

Requirements:

  • Experience in public speaking and leading classroom discussions.
  • Background in sociology, psychology, counseling, or education.
  • Ability to deal with unexpected difficulties, such as equipment failures or disruptions to class.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Weekend availability preferred.
  • Pay rate starts at $35/hr.
