Are you a skilled electrical engineering technician looking for a challenging role in the maritime industry? M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Ship/Submarine Engineering Technician 5 to join our Alteration Installation Teams.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in electrical engineering and installation to work on C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines. As a Ship/Submarine Engineering Technician 5, you will be responsible for leading a crew of installers, briefing site personnel on installation status, and ensuring that all installations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a crew of installers in the completion of single-site installations
  • Brief site personnel on installation status and future plans
  • Understand and correctly red-line as-built drawings
  • Locate and correct installation errors
  • Work as a Senior Installer supporting cabling, equipment, and device installations
  • Demonstrate advanced speed and accuracy in performing tasks
  • Have superior skills in complex mechanical, sub-assembly, rack and chassis assembly
  • Have superior leadership abilities
  • Consistently demonstrate superior workmanship in a mission-critical environment
Requirements:
  • At least 12 years of experience as an installer with experience working on Afloat C4ISR installations with the U.S. Navy
  • Completion of a formal two-year or more contractor apprenticeship program in a related field or completion of four (4) years of U.S. military service with a technical rating
  • Associates Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or Information Technology preferred
Working Conditions:

This position requires working at various heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders. You must be able to lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
