Job Overview

The Medical Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare system by conducting essential testing procedures and delivering accurate test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts routine testing and interprets results with precision.
  • Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instruments.
  • Implements quality control measures to ensure testing accuracy.
  • Manages inventory of supplies necessary for testing procedures.
  • Evaluates test outcomes for correctness, acceptability, and critical limits, documenting findings according to established protocols.
  • Collects and analyzes samples, including bodily fluids, to identify abnormalities. Engages in blood collection and examination for transfusion purposes.
QualificationsEducation:
Associate's Degree (or equivalent) in Applied Science or Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution is required.
Essential Skills:
Demonstrates critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to operate independently. Must thrive in high-pressure environments and respond appropriately to challenges.
Certifications:
Preferred certifications include MLT ASCP, AMT, or NCA.
