**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a highly qualified Data Scientist to join our team at Microsoft Corporation. This role involves designing and developing state-of-the-art tools for evaluating and understanding foundation models, with a focus on real-world applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with a dedicated research and engineering team to design and develop machine learning frameworks for model evaluation and understanding. You will also define benchmarks and execute experiments for rigorous model evaluation and understanding.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science and machine learning, with experience in programming languages such as Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.

**Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop machine learning frameworks for model evaluation and understanding.
  • Define benchmarks and execute experiments for rigorous model evaluation and understanding.
  • Work closely with partner engineering teams in both research and production.
  • Mentor or onboard incoming engineering contributors and empower them to maximize the team's impact.

**Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.

**Benefits:**

Microsoft offers a competitive salary range of $117,200 - $229,200 per year, depending on location.
