Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees a designated portfolio, strengthening existing relationships while focusing on commercial banking prospects, deposits, treasury management, and lending solutions. Achieves and surpasses sales targets related to deposits, loans, fee income, and referrals.
  • Builds new and nurtures existing client relationships through networking, cross-selling initiatives, and referrals from business product partners within the organization. Establishes and maintains a robust referral network to attract new client relationships, particularly targeting more complex business needs.
  • Collaborates with branch management and acts as the primary liaison for business clients. Serves as the commercial banking authority for a specific branch or group of branches.
  • May facilitate SBA loans by proactively establishing and nurturing internal and external relationships.
  • Actively manages client relationships by identifying financial requirements, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Evaluates applicant financial information to assess creditworthiness and navigates challenging credit scenarios.
  • Negotiates loan terms and makes decisions within established limits or provides recommendations. Monitors outstanding loans to confirm ongoing creditworthiness.
  • Represents Synovus in the community by engaging in local organizations, participating in chambers of commerce, and other leadership activities.
  • Follows established loan policies and procedures, collaborating with the commercial credit approval process to uphold underwriting and credit quality standards.
  • Utilizes professional expertise, experience, and analytical criteria to make informed decisions and resolve issues; independently determines methods and procedures for new assignments.
  • May orient, train, assign, and review the work of junior team members.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risks within their functional area, adhering to all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should report any known or suspected violations to the appropriate authority promptly.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
