Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join our team at Steel Technologies LLC. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods from our facility to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shipping and Receiving: Verify and maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to our customers.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring that all materials are properly stored and accounted for.
  • Freight Dispatch: Coordinate with carriers to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery schedules, and inspect shipments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading and certifications, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, customer service, and production, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of shipping activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in AS400 shipping system and other relevant software applications.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
