About the Role

The State of Indiana is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders, including developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and administer medication as needed, monitoring patients for side effects and adjusting medication as necessary.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency care as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct forensic evaluations and court commitment hearings as required.
  • Host preceptor medical internships and participate in collaborative agreements with Nurse Practitioners.
  • Provide on-call coverage and participate in on-call pay rate.
Requirements
  • Board-Certified General Psychiatry MD/DO.
  • Completion of an accredited residency training program in Psychiatry.
  • Valid license to practice medicine in the state of Indiana.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests, learning and motivation, psychological research methods, and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable him/her to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and members of healthcare teams.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of the contexts and systems in which healthcare is provided.
