Polysomnography Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Polysomnography Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Polysomnography Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.

• Prepare and calibrate equipment for sleep studies to ensure accurate data collection.
• Select and apply monitoring electrodes, bands, and probes to patients to gather data on sleep patterns and disorders.
• Follow established sleep procedures to document baseline values and identify potential sleep disorders.
• Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and generating accurate reports to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
• Implement interventions, such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and oxygen administration, to help patients with sleep disorders.
• Perform polysomnographic data acquisition and monitor study-tracing quality to ensure accurate data collection.
• Verify the integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days.
• Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) registration issued by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) within 2 years, or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) certification issued by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) within 2 years, or Registered Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialty (RRT-SDS) certification issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 2 years.
• Advanced training beyond high school, including completion of an accredited or approved program.
