About the Role

SC Johnson is a leading global manufacturer of household and professional products, and we're seeking an experienced Associate Manager, Chemist to join our Insecticide Science team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing new insecticide formulations with superior consumer benefits, driving the implementation of a technology roadmap, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance our insecticide science capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the development of new insecticide formulations with superior consumer benefits, leveraging advanced laboratory capabilities and external partner engagement.
  • Implement a technology roadmap for advancements in formulation and delivery system technologies, including investigation and evaluation of non-traditional actives and new delivery systems.
  • Develop and deliver formulations and technologies to be applied to our global insecticide portfolio, identifying and applying leading technologies in adjacent industries.
  • Act as technical lead for select safer efficacy formulation technology projects, ensuring appropriate rigor, assessing technical risk, and managing key development milestones and project budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance our insecticide science capabilities, including governmental, academic, and trade associations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Engineering or related science and 5 years of relevant work experience OR Advanced Degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Experiences and Skills
  • Advanced degree in Chemistry or Engineering.
  • Five years of formulation experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and commercializing consumer-preferred solutions.
  • Understanding of the functional properties, proper use, and the environmental impact of common skin care formulation ingredients.
  • Scientific aptitude & curiosity, and the ability to solve technical problems related to formulation.
  • Knowledge of the product development process and experience related to various formulation and delivery system technologies related to products.
