We are seeking a dynamic and talented Registered Nurse to work per diem in our ECT Suite on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays.
Job Summary:The Per Diem Registered Nurse will work in our ECT Suite, providing optimal care to patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Work with the healthcare team to provide optimal care to patients undergoing ECT
- Maintain a friendly, positive, and caring attitude with patients, physicians, and staff
- Provide patient education during all phases of the ECT experience
- Ensure proper supplies and equipment are available
- Identify actual and potential risks to patients and others, taking action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety in the facility
- Review patient charts and health history to ensure necessary ECT evaluations have been completed and consent forms have been signed
- Prepare patients for ECT by providing ongoing information to patients and their caregivers to ensure they understand all procedures and feel as comfortable as possible
- Perform nursing assessments, start IVs, and administer ordered medications
- Communicate with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
- Current New Jersey RN licensure; BSN/BS preferred
- Minimum requirements: one (1) year of psychiatric nursing experience or two (2) years of ICU experience
- ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing certification preferred
- CPR and ACLS certification required
