Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Higheredmilitary. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our dining center, ensuring the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation in our food productions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision and management of a large university dining center, ensuring the execution of menu plans, budget plans, and personnel plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer relations, safety, and sanitation in the dining facility.
  • Supervise, counsel, train, and develop employees to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and customer service.
  • Prepare recipes and ensure food productions meet the highest standards of quality, taste, creativity, presentation, and variety.
  • Manage inventory, scheduling, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Requirements

  • Certified in nutrition, sanitation, hospitality management, culinary training, and bakery training or equivalent related experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited culinary program with a minimum of an AOS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of commercial kitchen and food service operations.
  • Prior experience with menu planning, preparation, setup, presentation, and pricing.
  • Experience with schedule production, automated food ordering, merchandising, and maintenance.
  • Supervision and management experience in a high-volume, multiple-item menu, food service establishment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain successful and effective relationships with diverse, multicultural student and staff populations.
  • Excellent supervision and leadership abilities.
  • Prior experience in a customer service environment with excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience handling multiple tasks and serving a high volume and quality in a fast-paced food service environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers, including Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience with automated payroll and food inventory systems.
  • Eligibility for Certified Working Chef (C.W.C.) through ACF.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • HACCP certification.
