Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer to join our team at Range Commercial Partners, Inc. in Hampton Roads, VA.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

This role involves inspecting building systems, performing repairs and maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure the efficient operation of our properties. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, to ensure they operate within design capabilities and meet environmental conditions.
  • Perform daily repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance on assigned properties or accounts.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and HVAC.
  • Complete work orders for corrective repair work on a variety of building physical structures, equipment, and system components in a timely manner.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.
  • Order necessary materials to complete required repairs, within limits set by the Property Manager.
  • Complete all required paperwork within established deadlines to close out work orders.
  • Maintain and renew any required trade certifications and licenses.
  • Meet with the assigned Property Manager regularly to ensure that all aspects of required or requested maintenance work achieve the goals and objectives established to maintain the property.
Requirements:
  • High school education.
  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roofing, drywall, carpentry, and HVAC troubleshooting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers, with the ability to present information.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles to understand operating budgets.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations that require intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.
