COMPENSATION RANGE: $110,000

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nursing Manager is responsible for the direct oversight and daily management of nursing staff. This role fosters an environment of professional development through coaching, training, and mentoring, ensuring a respectful and positive workplace.

SUPERVISION: Reports to the Senior Medical Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and address operational, administrative, and supervisory challenges within the nursing team.
  • Develop staff schedules that optimize resource utilization based on current and anticipated client needs.
  • Enhance client care by promoting effective communication between nursing staff and clients.
  • Support the integration and coordination of treatment efforts with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead departmental meetings, providing updates on processes, changes, and team development.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, oversee staff recruitment, training, retention, and performance evaluations.
  • Work with team members and organizational leaders to improve work processes, update procedures, and recommend policy changes.
  • Manage procedures related to medication storage, accounting, and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and report medication errors and incidents promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of the departmental budget.
  • Provide direct client care as needed during staff shortages.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with relevant laws and organizational policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Current Colorado RN nursing license.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED.
  • At least two years of experience as a licensed nurse providing direct patient care.
  • One year of experience as a preceptor.
  • Preferred: One year of supervisory experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment.
  • Able to work rotating shifts and holidays in a 24/7 facility.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license and acceptable driving record if required to drive for work purposes.
  • If in recovery from a substance use disorder, a minimum of six months of continuous sobriety is required.

  • Ability to balance supervisory duties with clinical responsibilities effectively.
  • Critical thinking and decisive judgment within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Willingness to learn and apply Huron leadership principles.
  • Empathy and detachment in client and family interactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred knowledge of medical business operations and financial management.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record systems to meet standards.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical ability to navigate stairs, access all areas of the facility, assist with client mobility, and perform CPR.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
