UNC Health Care seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Support Tech I to join our Cardiology and Oncology Stepdown Unit (COSU) team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and performing various clerical and administrative tasks.

This is a per diem position working 6 hours a week, with a competitive hourly rate of $17.50 - $24.63.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist physicians and healthcare providers with examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
  2. Critically review patient care documentation, noting significant changes in the patient's condition and reporting them immediately to registered nurses or physicians.
  3. Provide various clerical tasks, including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing orders, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medical records.
  4. Perform routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies, as well as provide administrative support.
  5. Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, assisting with ambulation, measuring vital signs, and recording patient height and weight.
  6. Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding of instructions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Six months of clerical or customer service experience
