Job Title: Cloud Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technology-focused individual to join our Cloud Data Engineering team at Ford Motor Company. As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying data products and solutions that enable the creation and management of data products deployed to the Ford ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop data products and solutions using cloud-based technologies such as Google Cloud Platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
  • Participate in agile software development environments using sprint/user story methodology.
  • Work with team members to establish best practices to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
  • Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predict future challenges.
  • Stay current on the latest technology and contribute to the technical direction of the company while keeping a customer-centric approach.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field of study.
  • 5+ years of professional development experience in Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
  • 5+ years of analytics/data product development experience.
  • 3+ years of Google Cloud experience with solutions designed and implemented at production scale or similar.
  • 3+ years of data modeling and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field of study.
  • Expertise in API-related technologies such as JSON, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, Swagger, and Postman.
  • Knowledge about API design standards, patterns, and best-practices.
  • Experience helping troubleshoot application and performance issues.
  • Agile mindset.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8. Compensation will be determined according to experience and location. Visa sponsorship is available for this position. Candidates for positions with Ford Motor Company must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
