Industrial Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Industrial Operations Manager to join our team at Airgas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing and controlling the manufacture and distribution of packaged and bulk gases in a production environment. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of industrial gas products and production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Direct and control the manufacture and distribution of packaged and bulk gases in a production environment

* Coordinate plant safety, maintenance, compliance, staffing, training, and associate performance

* Develop and implement operational budgets and capital expenditure plans

* Collaborate with regional safety officer to coordinate procedures for compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and state and local regulations and Union agreements

* Create and implement standard operational practices

* Ensure adequate cylinder supply to meet customer needs

* Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and minimum delays

* Assist with development of capital expenditure budget and coordinate capital expenditures once proper approvals have been received

* Compile, store, and analyze production data and make adjustments to meet customer needs and retain customers

* Suggest or initiate plans to motivate workers to achieve goals; recommend and/or initiate personnel actions

* Ensure safety rules are strictly observed and safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted, and documented

* Promote safety awareness among employees and create a mechanism for supervisors to actively participate and be held accountable

* Ensure all accidents and/or injuries are reported within 24 hours and properly investigated

* Comply with all Airgas safety rules and company policies

* Lead daily safety meetings

* Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

* High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred

* 5 + years of experience in industrial gas/packaged gas industry plant environment, petrochemical, or related industries in operations and/or engineering or related activities

* Minimum 2 years in supervisory role

* General Management and Leadership Roles in Industrial Gas Business

* Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Must be customer service oriented and able to interact with the public in a professional manner

* Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations

* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detail-oriented with good organizational skills

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

* Ability to write routine business reports and correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, managers, customers, and the general public

* Good math skills; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages; ability to handle cash transactions accurately

* Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks

* Pre-employment and random drug testing applies

* Possess conceptual understanding of industrial gas products, production, distribution applications, and equipment

* Working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices desired

* Significant training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA)

* Compliance with applicable federal, state, local regulatory procedures (CGMP, DOT, OSHA, FDA, etc.)

* Must have extensive coordination experience in a multi-team environment

* Must be able to use Microsoft Office suite of applications - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

* Proficiency with SAP software desired
