Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Mathematics Educator to join our middle school mathematics department as a Lead Teaching Position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students on their grade level for 90 minutes of mathematics each day, and will work collaboratively with colleagues across grade levels to create and build curriculum designed to promote conceptual understanding and standards mastery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach mathematics to students on their grade level for 90 minutes each day
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that promotes conceptual understanding and standards mastery
  • Use data-driven instruction and pedagogical experimentation to develop reflective learners who actively take risks and achieve at the highest level
  • Meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in mathematics education and implement them in the classroom
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of lead teaching experience, at least 2 of which must have been in 4th through 9th grade classrooms
  • Deeply aligned to The Equity Project's mission of providing a world-class education to historically under-resourced student communities
