POSITION SUMMARY

The Heavy Equipment Technician will support the Fleet Manager in the repair and upkeep of heavy-duty construction machinery and vehicles. The role requires travel and familiarity with various types of construction equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct repair and maintenance on fleet vehicles, including both diesel and gasoline-powered heavy construction machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems that occur with fleet vehicles.
  • Independently resolve technical challenges.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to obtain a Commercial License.
  • Familiarity with mechanical tools.
  • Ability to acquire skills related to EV/Hybrid mechanics.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to established protocols.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Effective communication skills in English are essential for collaborating with customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, and other contractors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical requirements for this position include the ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regular lifting of 25 to 50 pounds is expected, with occasional lifting of more than 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Employees will frequently travel to various job sites and work in typical shop environments, which may include moderate to loud noise levels.
