Investment Operations Analyst
The University of Illinois Foundation serves as the official organization for fundraising and private gift management within the University of Illinois System. The Investment Operations Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the investment team responsible for managing a diverse investment portfolio. This position encompasses a variety of tasks within investment operations, emphasizing the importance of accurate and timely data availability while adhering to established policies and best practices. The Analyst will utilize technology to enhance operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Enter transactions and valuations into the internal investment portfolio management system and initiate trades in the custodian's order management platform.
2. Reconcile and investigate discrepancies related to trades, valuations, and performance between the internal system, custodian, and investment managers.
3. Generate performance reports and analytics for both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Maintain an organized internal database of investment documentation by monitoring and cataloging information from investment managers.
5. Oversee liquidity and fee structures for all investments within the internal system, preparing cash flow forecasts and analyses of cash requirements.
6. Complete necessary subscription and redemption paperwork for review and execution, and address KYC/AML inquiries.
7. Respond to various surveys concerning asset allocation, fees, and performance metrics.
8. Assist in conducting operational due diligence on both new and existing investments.
9. Support the annual audit process by providing requested documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
· 2-5 years of relevant experience in investment operations.
· Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
· Process-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong collaborative skills and a solid work ethic.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel and a quick learner of new software systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous experience in investment operations within an endowment, foundation, pension, or fund administration is highly advantageous.
