Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with daily living skills, behavior management, and academic lessons in a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with the classroom team to develop and implement individualized behavior plans and academic instruction.
  • Implement behavior intervention techniques in alignment with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting social and emotional growth.
  • Assist with classroom planning, preparation, and organization to ensure a smooth and productive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with autism.
Requirements
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working with students with autism or other special needs in a classroom setting.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral characteristics associated with autism and other behavior issues.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and patient demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card and First aid/CPR certification.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in an indoor and outdoor classroom setting, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Ability to supervise vulnerable students 100% of the time during shift.
