Key Responsibilities- Examination Room Preparation: Prepare examination rooms for patient examinations, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, following strict protocols to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Patient Positioning and Equipment: Position patients and equipment to obtain clear, usable images, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.
- Image Acquisition and Documentation: Insert commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences, monitoring video displays to adjust density or contrast.
- Patient Monitoring and Safety: Monitor patients during examinations, ensuring their safety and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Diagnostic Image Production and Reporting: Produce diagnostic images, reporting important information to physicians, and updating patient records.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
- Education and Certification: Graduate from a fully accredited Radiology Tech program and hold an active, unencumbered Illinois Radiology Tech state license.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of current Radiology Tech experience, with one year of Cerner experience preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong technical skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Qualifications: BLS and ACLS certification, National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification, and ARRt Certification.
