Forensic Interviewer

We are seeking an experienced and committed Forensic Interviewer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting legally sound, recorded interviews of children suspected to have been abused, neglected, or a witness to violence. This is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise, compassion, and cultural competence.

• Conduct forensic interviews with children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma
• Prepare for court proceedings and provide expert testimony
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to discuss case details and develop strategies for supporting children and families
• Meet with non-offending caregivers to discuss the interview process and provide support
• Prepare summaries of each forensic interview and maintain secure storage of interview files
• Perform intake functions for referrals from law enforcement and Child Protective Services
• Conduct regular peer reviews with local and regional colleagues to ensure best practices and quality assurance
• Rotate on-call responsibilities to ensure 24/7 availability
• Supervise student interns and practicum students as required
• Provide referrals to treatment and community services
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams for investigations and treatment of child abuse

• Master's degree in social work, clinical counseling, or a related field
• Training and/or experience interviewing children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma
• Extensive training/experience in child welfare and juvenile justice systems
• Previous professional experience related to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases
• Previous experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to testify effectively in civil and criminal court proceedings
• Ability to establish rapport with children who have experienced trauma and mediate with non-offending caregivers
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of cultural diversity and ability to exhibit sensitivity in dealing with people of varied backgrounds
