Job Title: PT Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a part-time dental hygienist to join our team at Arrow Dental in Salem, Oregon.

Job Summary:

This is a part-time position responsible for promoting dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Prepares patients for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, and seating patients
  • Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
  • Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment
  • Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits by evaluating patients' oral health
  • Completes dental prophylaxis and periodontal scaling and root planning as appropriate
  • Completes periodontal charting and takes radiographs
  • Applies fluoride and other cavity-preventing agents as necessary
  • Maintains patients' appearance and ability to masticate by cleaning and polishing removable appliances
Requirements:
  • A Registered Dental Hygienist and active Oregon License
  • American Dental Hygienist Association (ADHA) membership preferred
  • Follows ADHA Professional Code of Ethics
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, dental software experience helpful
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Participate effectively as a team player
  • Nitrous certification a plus
  • Excellent reading, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally, patiently, and courteously
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to come to work on time and on a daily basis
