Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate complex medical issues by reviewing patient histories, conducting examinations, and performing neurological assessments.
- Provide counseling to patients regarding neurological conditions and their implications.
- Order and interpret neurological tests and neuroimaging results.
- Prescribe and administer appropriate treatments and medications.
- Coordinate supportive care services for patients.
- Conduct thorough physical and neurological examinations for patients with neurological disorders.
- Order diagnostic tests, including blood tests, spinal fluid analyses, and imaging studies such as MRIs.
- Diagnose conditions based on comprehensive physical and cognitive evaluations and test outcomes.
- Develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Effectively communicate treatment strategies and home care instructions to patients.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Accreditation with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
- Completion of an accredited neurology residency program
- Active Medical License
- Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
- Current DEA and DPS registration for prescription authority
- Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Department settings
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is advantageous, but not mandatory
