Capital One is looking for a seasoned HR leader to spearhead its horizontal programs and processes. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of 4-6 delivery leads who power core HR processes such as associate surveys, talent management, compensation, and more.

This role requires strong program and project management capabilities, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to leverage metrics to tell a story and influence executives to outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growing, developing, and coaching associates to their full potential.

Key responsibilities include supporting the planning and delivery of core HR processes, delivering a Tech horizontal strategy aligned with business needs, partnering with enterprise services and SIBC&P teams to deliver holistic experiences across the portfolio, and collaborating with leadership to ensure horizontal roles maintain value, robust career pathing, and development.

The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator, problem solver, and influencer with experience in human resources or human capital consulting. They will have a strong understanding of core HR processes, change management, and design thinking principles.

  • Support the planning and delivery of core HR processes including performance and talent management, leadership development, change management, and organizational design

  • Develop and deliver a Tech horizontal strategy that aligns with business needs and the broader Tech organization

  • Partner with horizontal lead for Enterprise Services and SIBC&P to deliver a holistic and consistent set of experiences across our full portfolio

  • Collaborate with Leadership Team to ensure Horizontal role maintains value, robust career pathing and development, while exemplifying enterprise leadership expectations with the ability to inspire and empower the team to do their best work. Additionally, creating an inclusive environment for all associates; strong ability to forecast talent needs and operate in dynamic organizational landscape

  • Partner with enterprise HR to provide upstream and downstream feedback and further team enablement and automation journey

  • Work closely with the Tech HR Chief of Staff to connect dots and influencing across multiple cross-functional teams, client organizations and groups without direct authority, while also collaborating to identify solutions that can achieve shared results

  • Provide thought partnership to Tech HR leadership to drive project delivery, making recommendations and decisions in gray space, and leading program/process improvements to mitigate risks and optimize delivery

  • Monitor and analyze metrics for all initiatives and solutions, and make recommendations to drive improvements to enhance value and sustainability

  • Stay current with external trends, best practices, and innovations and infuse these into the work products and approaches
