About the Role

The University of California, San Francisco Campus and Health is seeking a highly skilled Digital Workplace Communications Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of digital workplace communication solutions for the University.

This includes the strategic design, implementation, and maintenance of systems and infrastructure, as well as advising on existing and emerging communications technologies. You will coordinate the engineering and technical support for infrastructure and services to ensure that systems are operating at peak efficiency.

As a Communication Services Engineer, you will provide technical management, direction, and guidance to a team of engineers and partner with other Infrastructure Services teams to ensure that digital workplace communications services systems are operating at peak efficiency with minimal downtime.

This role will positively impact UCSF's operations and culture by ensuring UCSF's IT infrastructure is operable, secure, efficient, and effective in service of the University's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital workplace communication solutions for the University
  • Advise on existing and emerging communications technologies
  • Coordinate engineering and technical support for infrastructure and services
  • Provide technical management, direction, and guidance to a team of engineers
  • Partner with other Infrastructure Services teams to ensure peak efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, computer information systems, or related field
  • 5-7+ years of experience in digital workplace communications, information technology, or network operations
  • Extensive experience supporting large-scale telephony implementations and upgrades
  • Advanced knowledge of voice and video applications and unified communications services networks
  • Experience with service management, asset management, and billing tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and advance positive working relationships
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to balance competing priorities
  • Advanced problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Significant hands-on experience with network transport, design, planning, and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of Zoom Digital Workplace Service and integration within a higher education environment
