Job Summary:

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team in Diagnostic Radiology. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality computed tomography imaging services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review patient history and physician's orders to ensure accurate and efficient imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and identify issues with image quality.
  • Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Full range of motion of upper and lower extremities.
  • Ability to move and/or lift patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Standing and/or walking for extensive periods.
  • Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Potential for exposure to communicable disease and/or body fluid requiring use of body substance isolation precautions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Advanced certification in Computed Tomography preferred.
  • AHA BLS required.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in Diagnostic Radiology preferred. Previous CT experience preferred.
