Key Responsibilities:
The Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for:
- Conducting safety inspections on all vehicles acquired from auctions or trade-ins.
- Diagnosing malfunctions and performing necessary repairs on customer and internal repair orders.
- Executing repairs according to estimates and adhering to manufacturer and dealer standards.
- Performing road tests to ensure quality of completed work.
- Assessing vehicles for any additional safety or service requirements.
- Communicating additional work requests and estimates to Service Managers.
- Completing all tasks in accordance with safety regulations and established procedures.
- Documenting all work performed and findings on repair orders and inspection sheets.
- Maintaining communication with the Parts Department regarding parts status.
- Meeting production goals set by management.
- Keeping the assigned workspace organized and clean.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Upholding a high standard of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance.
- Performing other administrative tasks as directed by service management.
- Maintaining ethical standards in all professional interactions.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma; an Associate's degree in mechanical technology or graduation from an automotive vocational school is preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of automotive experience.
- Knowledge of machinery and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance; understanding of federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal; and proficiency in basic mathematical principles.
- The ability to operate manual transmission vehicles, identify causes of operational errors, coordinate with colleagues, pay attention to detail, and comprehend instructions in English.
- A valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
