JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Overview:

Penn State University Press (PSUP) is on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Marketing and Sales Coordinator.

This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing and plays a crucial role within the department, frequently collaborating with authors, vendors, and Press colleagues.

Role location: Local to the State College, Pennsylvania; a hybrid work schedule is allowed, but a minimum of three days at the Press office is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Exhibit Program Management: Oversee the annual planning and execution of PSUP's exhibit program, including the development of ROI measurement reports; coordinate all logistics such as booking space and furnishings, program advertisements, creating and routing book lists, managing payments and invoicing, and arranging the shipment of books and supplies. Some travel to industry trade shows and conferences will be necessary.

Seasonal Catalog Management: Manage the routing of title lists for internal feedback; gather copy and art files for freelancers; review proofs and expedite communication between freelancers and the internal team; create and populate the seasonal catalog in Edelweiss; develop and coordinate graphic design materials as required.

Sales Support and Analytics: Collaborate with sales specialists to develop target customer lists; retrieve inventory and title reports via vendor portals; provide data analysis for the Press's book distribution partners; oversee communications regarding low inventory.

Author Events Coordination: Manage the sales aspects of author events, communicating necessary information to representatives, fulfillment teams, authors, and venues.

Desk/Exam Copy Management: Vet requests and fulfill orders efficiently.

Job Requirements: A bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or experience is required.

Prior experience in administrative and/or sales/marketing roles is preferred but not mandatory; familiarity with Excel; experience with Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly InDesign); excellent organizational, proofreading, and effective written and oral communication skills; attention to detail; self-motivation; and the ability to multitask while adhering to strict budgets and schedules.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
