Position Overview:

GoldenWolf is in search of a seasoned Senior Fire Safety Engineer to deliver full-time, on-site assistance as part of the Engineering Operations team. This position will encompass the planning, direction, and coordination of fire safety system initiatives while ensuring adherence to all applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Engineering Infrastructure team on all fire safety system-related issues in support of the mission.
  • Utilize a variety of CAD/BIM and other software to create plans, specifications, hydraulic calculations, material lists, and other documentation to comply with state, local, and federal codes, as well as Joint Commission and DoD standards.
  • Conduct evaluations of building fire safety, codes, and life-safety, and prepare/present technical reports and presentations.
  • Perform functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance of systems through detailed verification of design, installation, functionality, and performance of fire safety equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers to support facility modifications and projects, ensuring compliance with scope and specifications.
  • Assess proposed projects and technical solutions for necessity, code compliance, effectiveness, and life cycle cost.
  • Respond to technical Requests for Information (RFIs) in accordance with codes, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Travel to sites for thorough inspections of existing equipment conditions, evaluate maintenance procedures, and confirm proper operational practices.
  • Provide detailed travel reports outlining observations, findings, and recommendations in a technical yet accessible manner for non-engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration in Fire Protection is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the healthcare sector, with direct responsibility for the operation, maintenance, repair, and management of fire safety systems for large institutional, industrial, or healthcare campuses. This experience must be recent and continuous over the preceding three years.
  • US Citizenship with National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance or the ability to obtain said clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert-level skills and extensive practical experience in all facets of fire safety systems, including design, analysis, and management.
  • Strong understanding of local, municipal, and federal building codes, criteria, and standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communicative, diplomatic, and analytical skills for delivering technically sound fire safety engineering strategies to project stakeholders.
  • Proven expertise in computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Revit.
