We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team at Stantec.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing environmental assessment and remediation tasks, project execution, budgeting, scheduling, contracting, personnel supervision, compliance monitoring, data analysis/reduction, and technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Assessments and Preliminary Assessments to identify potential environmental hazards.
  • Organize and manage environmental investigation and remediation tasks, including ground water monitoring and soil boring/well installations.
  • Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance on environmental assessment and remediation procedures.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide support to multiple Stantec offices and travel may be required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible environmental assessment and remediation work experience.
  • Experience in refinery/fuel storage terminal and manufactured gas plant settings is an asset.
