As a comprehensive provider of Turnkey Automation Solutions, we collaborate with clients to analyze their existing workflows, identify key challenges, and envision future improvements, all aimed at uncovering opportunities for effective automation solutions that deliver tangible ROI (Return on Investment).
In this role, reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager, the Automation Systems Engineer will take charge of the planning, design, HMI PLC and robotic programming, testing, startup, and commissioning of automated systems across various manufacturing sectors from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate within a team environment to exceed client expectations
Engage in project evaluations, completing all essential project management documentation to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery
Research and remain updated on the latest technologies related to automation
Design and develop electrical schematics and panel layouts for automated systems, integrating robotics
Specify electrical components for procurement and/or direct modifications in collaboration with vendors to ensure adherence to engineering designs and safety standards
Program HMI's, PLC's, motion controls, and vision systems
Plan and create offline robot programs utilizing 3D simulation software
Initialize and install software on robotic systems
Establish robot user frames
Verify and refine offline robot path programming, I/O, and logic
Conduct testing and troubleshooting of automated systems prior to client acceptance testing and onsite commissioning
Deliver necessary electrical controls training for automated systems to client personnel
Provide essential robotic programming training for automated systems to client personnel
Ensure accurate documentation of electrical controls and robotic systems
Support client automation systems both remotely and onsite as required
Assist in identifying and nurturing new sales opportunities by fostering relationships with existing, new, and potential clients/vendors
Perform other assigned duties as necessary
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automation design and programming
Experience with Allen Bradley PLC and HMI controls
Strong proficiency in 2D software design tools for automation system development
Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Rockwell Studio 5000
Experience in FANUC robot setup and programming
Knowledge of Material Handling ROBOGUIDE
Experience with Welding WeldPRO
Familiarity with Painting PaintPro
Experience with CRX Collaborative
Knowledge of Vision systems
Experience with Octopuz 3D robot simulation is a plus
Highly motivated team player
Detail-oriented with excellent communication and project management skills
Able to interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
Capable of translating automation conceptual designs into functional equipment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Able to think analytically and creatively while considering safety and cost
Possess strong troubleshooting abilities
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while also contributing as a team member within the Automation Controls Engineering team and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Sales, Automation Mechanical Engineering, and shop floor Electro-Mechanical Technicians
