We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a range of clinical laboratory testing in an accurate and timely fashion.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Skills: Demonstrates technical competency by performing a variety of techniques involved in the laboratory, including moderate complexity tests and high complexity testing.
- Instrumentation Skills: Develops and demonstrates knowledge and skills of instrumentation, procedures, and process.
- General Laboratory Skills and Knowledge: Performs tasks that assist with overall operation of laboratory service according to laboratory policies and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Professional Skills: Develops and participates in activities that demonstrate professionalism, a commitment to competency and career growth.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in a Biological Science or Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or equivalent Bachelor's degree.
- Experience: Laboratory experience is preferred, but not required.
- Licensure: ASCP categorical certification eligibility and completion within 2 years of hire is highly preferred.
- Special Skills: Basic knowledge of instrumentation and equipment used in a laboratory, skilled manual dexterity for manual procedures, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
