h3Job Description/h3pWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Onus Talent. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and sheet metal projects, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring project estimates are accurate and competitive./ppbKey Responsibilities:/b/pulliCollect and analyze historical cost data to estimate costs for ongoing and future projects./liliConsult with clients, vendors, internal departments, and construction foremen to discuss project estimates and resolve any issues./liliPrepare and present cost estimates to management, supporting work planning, organizing, and scheduling./liliAnalyze blueprints, project specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor./liliCollaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors on project scope adjustments and cost revisions./liliReview contracts and bid documents to ensure accurate project scope and smooth turnover./liliParticipate in project walk-throughs, pre-bid meetings, and scope clarification discussions./liliPerform quantitative take-offs and input data into estimating software./liliPrepare detailed scope letters and proposals for potential projects./liliMaintain and build strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors./liliCoordinate closely with the Engineering Department to ensure estimates meet technical requirements./liliEnsure all estimating documents are centrally saved in the company's secure drive for easy access and confidentiality./liliAssist project managers with take-offs and pricing changes as needed./liliEscalate critical or sensitive issues to the Estimating Manager, offering recommended solutions./liliAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations./liliTake on additional responsibilities as directed by company executives or management./li/ulpbRequired Qualifications:/b/pulliPrevious experience in the construction industry, particularly in cost estimating./liliProven experience in mechanical estimating; sheet metal experience is a strong plus./liliHigh school diploma or GED is required; further education or certifications in construction management or a related field are a plus./liliSolid understanding of construction industry practices and contract documentation./liliFamiliarity with federal, state, and local construction regulations./liliProficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF viewer tools./liliExperience with estimating software such as AutoCAD Fabrication, EstMEP, and Quotesoft./li/ulpbSkills & Competencies:/b/pulliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills./liliAbility to interpret blueprints and project specifications accurately./liliExcellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail./liliOutstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships./liliTime management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines./liliAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team./li/ulpbDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Statement:/bbrWe are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where different perspectives are valued and everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.
