Job Summary

Advocate Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Comprehensive Patient Care
    • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, addressing complex medical needs and promoting optimal outcomes.
  • Manage Patient Flow and Operations
    • Assess and prioritize patient needs, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
    • Coordinate patient scheduling, exams, and procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and minimal delays.
  • Maintain Accurate Records and Documentation
    • Accurately document patient information, medical histories, and treatment plans, adhering to regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
    • Ensure timely and secure transmission of patient data, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  • Stay Current with Medical Knowledge and Best Practices
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and treatment modalities.
    • Apply evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care.
  • Lead and Mentor Colleagues
    • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting professional growth and development.
    • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and educational programs, enhancing the overall quality of care and staff performance.
  • Ensure a Safe and Healthy Work Environment
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
    • Report any safety concerns or incidents, contributing to a culture of transparency and accountability.
    Requirements
    • Education and Certification
      • Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
      • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice.
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained within 6 months of hire.
    • Skills and Abilities
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
      • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
      • Proficient computer skills, including electronic medical records systems and other software applications.
    • Physical Demands
      • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
      • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, and up to 20 pounds over the head.
      • Ability to push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present.
