Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gifted and Talented Education Specialist to join our team at Pearland ISD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students in the areas of assessment, curriculum, and program services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for identifying and supporting gifted and talented students
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver engaging and challenging learning experiences
  • Provide professional learning opportunities for teachers on research-based practices for teaching gifted learners
  • Support family and community involvement in gifted education
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in gifted education and make recommendations for program improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
  • GT Supplemental Certification, preferred or required within 1 year
  • Minimum three years' experience working with gifted and talented students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gifted assessment, curriculum, and program services
  • Leadership experience in a school setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions
  • Work in a fast-paced school environment
  • Regular exposure to noise
  • Prolonged standing and frequent walking
