Surgery Scheduler Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our team at Texas Orthopedic Specialists, PLLC. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for coordinating the schedules of our physicians and ensuring seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming calls to triage and schedule appointments for physicians based on approved protocols.
  • Coordinate scheduling and referrals for all providers in our office.
  • Intake patient demographic and insurance information to register them in the EHR system accurately.
  • Communicate with patients about appointment details and provide education on procedures and pre/post-operative instructions.
  • Coordinate with physician and medical assistant to schedule patient surgeries.
  • Make reservations for patient surgeries at the hospital or surgery center.
  • Coordinate anesthesia for surgery and communicate with primary care offices for medical clearances.
  • Provide excellent communication with other schedulers to ensure timely call returns and voicemail checks.
Requirements:
  • Experience in clinic and surgery scheduling.
  • Ability to coordinate schedules of multiple resources.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties.
