Position Overview:
The Lead Elasticsearch Systems Architect role is integral to our Agile team operating within a DevSecOps framework.

This position focuses on providing comprehensive support for a significant enterprise-level ElasticSearch implementation.


Key responsibilities include design, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting within Elastic environments, both in cloud (AWS) and on-premises settings.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Elasticsearch clusters in a cloud-based architecture across multiple availability zones.
  • Ensure optimal operational conditions for Elasticsearch clusters.
  • Assess and enhance existing Elasticsearch clusters, including configuration parameters, indexing, search and query performance optimization, security, and administration.
  • Maintain the necessary infrastructure to uphold performance and data integrity.
  • Facilitate upgrades to Elasticsearch clusters, as permitted by dependent applications.
  • Deploy and customize clusters to fulfill diverse development and business requirements.
  • Optimize indexes to align with business objectives (e.g., logging, enterprise search).
  • Diagnose and resolve various cluster issues, ranging from minor errors like unassigned shards to significant automation or node/cluster failures.
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, engineering, development, and operations teams to ensure production scalability and stability.
  • Safeguard the security of the Elasticsearch cluster.
  • Implement and adhere to Elastic best practices.
  • Establish appropriate monitoring and alerting mechanisms for Elasticsearch.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Elasticsearch Administration.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and integrating Elasticsearch within an operational enterprise information system.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment.
  • Familiarity with deploying and utilizing Elasticsearch in Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on customer systems.
  • Understanding of customer system development policies.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $122,000 - $220,900.00

The pay range for this position serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation. Factors influencing the offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
