Job Summary

The Server position at Plant Riverside District is a key role in providing exceptional guest experiences. As a Server, you will be responsible for serving food and beverage to our guests in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining a high level of service and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and Interact with Guests: Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a genuinely warm and friendly manner using professional and company-standard nomenclature.
  • Operate the Telephone System: Operate the telephone system, answering calls within three (3) rings, using the correct salutation and telephone etiquette.
  • Maintain Guest Privacy: Maintain the integrity of guests' privacy, including confidentiality of personal information and key control.
  • Protect Company Assets: Maintain the integrity of Company proprietary information and protect Company assets.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, beer, liquor, and wine.
  • Clear and Reset Tables: Clears and resets counters or tables after each course.
  • Assist Dining Room Servers: Assists dining room servers in the food and beverage service, sets tables, keeps menus clean and maintains a clean table between servings and menu knowledge.
  • Provide Beverages: Assists with providing tables with beverages.
  • Remove and Replace Linens: Removes solid linens and replaces them with clean linen.
  • Transport Dirty Dishes: Transports dirty dishes to the dishwashing station.
  • Polish Silver and Glass: Polish silver and glass as needed.
  • Present Menu and Answer Questions: Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and beverage.
  • Explain and Recommend Wine: Explain, pair and recommend wine from the wine list.
  • Serve Food and Beverage: Serve food and beverage in a genuine, friendly, professional, and efficient manner consistent with the company image and standards.
  • Relay Orders to the Kitchen: Relays orders to the kitchen through POS and helps serve courses from kitchen and service bars.
  • Total Bill and Accept Payment: Totals bill and accepts payment.
  • Utilize Property Management Systems: Proficiently utilizes the property management systems and follows cash handling procedures.
  • Clear and Reset Tables: Clears and resets tables at conclusion of each course.
  • Set Up the Dining Room: Sets up the dining room in a thorough and swift manner.
  • Complete Opening and Closing Procedures: Complete opening and closing procedures as well as daily side-work.
  • Inventory and Restock Supplies: Inventory and restock supplies as needed.
  • Maintain Knowledge of Office Equipment: Maintain complete knowledge in the use of all office equipment, property management systems, and access according to specifications.
  • Maintain a Neat and Organized Work Area: Maintain a neat and organized work area to include adhering to sanitation standards according to state law and health codes.
  • Maintain Complete Knowledge and Comply with Company Policies: Maintain complete knowledge and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a Neat, Clean, and Professional Appearance: Maintain neat, clean, and professional appearance according to standards.
  • Follow Company Safety and Security Policies: Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
  • Welcome and Acknowledge Guests with Disabilities: Welcome and acknowledge guests with disabilities and follow proper procedures to accommodate needs.
  • Develop and Maintain a Positive Working Relationship: Develop and maintain a positive working relationship and support the team to achieve our goals.
  • Attend Required Training and Meetings: Attend required training and meetings.
  • All Other Duties: All other duties as assigned, planned or un-planned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Guest Service Etiquette: Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques.
  • Ability to Perform Tasks: Ability to perform all tasks related to restaurant server and proficiently use job-related software, property management systems, and office equipment.
  • Ability to Remain Calm: Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgment and effectively solve problems.
  • Ability to Work Quickly: Ability to work quickly, prioritize, and maintain service at multiple tables at a time.
  • Ability to Read and Interpret Documents: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to Demonstrate Cash Handling Procedures: Ability to demonstrate cash handling procedures and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, upgrades, and percentages.
  • Strong Written, Verbal, and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High school diploma, GED Degree, or related training equivalent - required.
  • 1+ Year of Relevant Work Experience: 1+ year of relevant work experience in similar scope and title required.
  • Experience within Luxury Brand/Markets: Experience within luxury brand/markets - required.
  • Student or Graduate of Hotel Management: Student or graduate of hotel management preferred.
