*This position may be filled as a Maintenance Operator (MO), MO 1, 2, 3, 4, Journeyman Maintenance Operator (JMO), or MO Tech based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.*

Job Qualifications:
  • Under general supervision, with some latitude for planning and executing work details, candidates must be capable of performing basic mechanical tasks related to the inspection, repair, installation, testing, adjustment, and calibration of meters, instruments, and automatic combustion control equipment in generating facilities.
  • Ability to conduct simple electrical work involving the inspection, repair, or installation of electrical equipment in generating stations and substations.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical tasks related to the inspection, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment in generating facilities.
  • Responsible for operating equipment in a central controlled turbo-generator-boiler system during assigned shifts.
  • Depending on the employee's primary skill set, they may be required to perform complex duties in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation and control fields.
Experience and Special Qualifications:

MO: No prior experience required.

JMO - MO Tech: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in power plant operation and maintenance is required.
  • Familiarity with the fundamental principles of mechanical measuring devices, instruments, controls, and regulating devices used in generating plants.
  • Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment commonly utilized in this field.
  • Ability to understand and execute operations of average complexity where standard procedures are available.
  • Knowledge of steam boilers, turbo-generators, pumps, heaters, and associated equipment.
  • Ability to sketch a flow diagram of main piping systems from memory.
  • Understanding of rotating electrical equipment, switches, transformers, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and first aid procedures.
Physical Qualifications:

MO: Minimum age of 18.

JMO - MO Tech: Minimum age requirement.
  • Must possess full mental and physical capabilities.
  • Must have the strength and endurance necessary for demanding labor as required.
Personal Qualifications:
  • Vigilant in observing hazards and preventing accidents.
  • Willingness to participate in safety meetings.
  • Adaptability to work in various conditions.
  • Availability for irregular or extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.
  • Capability to assume supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to all customers.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS test is required.
Working Conditions:
As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available for additional hours, work in alternate locations, and perform extra duties as necessary during emergencies or other situations.

Note: Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite for employment in this position.
