Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ink Technician Lead to join our team at Ink Systems. As a key member of our ink production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality ink products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between Ink Systems and our customers, working closely with customer management personnel and staff to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Manufacture ink and maintain the ink room, ensuring all equipment and processes are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Design and maintain customer records, including ordering, forecasting, and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Provide professional-level ink room services to customers, including color matching, formula creation, batching, and weighing.
  • Use spectrophotometer equipment and software to measure color and ensure accurate color matching.
  • Generate batch tickets for production and weigh, mix, and QC batches to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Log and track ink usage and open and close jobs at press side, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Adjust unapproved colors in a timely manner and use spectrophotometer equipment and software to QC batches vs. master wet samples.
  • Create and enter master formulas into the formula database and compile neat and professional color match proof presentations.
  • Estimate amount(s) of ink(s) needed on a job-by-job basis and log and communicate information/issues to co-workers and manager.
  • Participate in pre-job planning with lab/customer and train and mentor co-workers.
  • Understand press chemistry and basic offset mechanics and analyze and troubleshoot situations involving press/ink.
  • Clearly communicate specific needs/issues/criteria with labs, sales main plant, and introduce and expand on new products to help improve customer experience.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Ink Technician Lead who has a strong understanding of ink production and quality control processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, co-workers, and management.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in ink production, color matching, and quality control. They will also have excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues involving press/ink.
