The Finance team at Intermap Technologies has the need for a skilled Project Accountant to cover during a leave of absence. The position is temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent. Flexible work hours will be available. Responsibilities will include creating reconciliations and journal entries for six companies, assisting with monthly general ledger, project, and fixed asset accounting, analyzing monthly variances, and reporting.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintains project accounting records in general ledger software (Great Plains 2016) and ensures contract compliance for timely and accurate billing and revenue recognition.
  • Issues and reviews client invoices to ensure they are in accordance with the contract terms and assists in the timely collection of accounts receivable while performing detailed reviews of unbilled revenue.
  • Provides monthly estimate-at-completion (EAC) budget forecast which includes calculating budget overruns and revenue adjustments as well as month-end reporting on project performance including gross margin variances and ad hoc reporting.
  • A key player in the month-end close process, which includes booking cost accruals and deferrals, ensuring revenue recognition is complete and accurate, and completing account reconciliations for each organization.
  • Preparation of intercompany reconciliations and entries.
  • Preparation of standard monthly journal entries; prepaids, accruals, reclasses, etc., as needed.
  • Produces monthly accounting reports for financial statements and monthly management reports.
  • Compares actual costs to estimates and analyzes variances.

**Requirements:**

  • BS in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years project accounting and GL experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong project accounting knowledge, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation background.
  • Proficiency with Great Plains accounting software preferred.

**Work Arrangements:**

40 hours per week during initial training period and month-end close weeks (approximately two). 20 hours per week during non-close weeks (after training period). A hybrid work arrangement may be considered after initial training period.
