We are building the next generation of devices and infrastructure for training and in-field deployment of in-field scenarios like project IVAS (Integrated Visual Augmentation System). To get there, we're incorporating diverse groundbreaking technologies from sensors, computer vision, machine learning, human-computer interaction, AI, and more.

About the Role

As a Software Engineer II on the Mixed Reality Team, you will work on the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS). The United States Army has contracted Microsoft to prototype hardware, software, and cloud solutions for IVAS. The program leverages technology from HoloLens to design a heads-up display that pushes the boundaries of mixed reality devices.

Responsibilities
  • Develop software and services to support the diverse engineering systems ensuring this product's successful delivery.
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  • Contribute to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience delivering commercial-quality software products for internal or external customers, consumers or enterprises.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience delivering commercial-quality software products for internal or external customers, consumers or enterprises.
  • Demonstrated industry experience with building distributed cloud-based systems.
  • Demonstrated industry experience with DevSecOps (Azure Devops or similar).
  • Demonstrated industry experience as a Full-stack developer.
