Key Responsibilities:

A culinary specialist at Ciena Healthcare is responsible for preparing appetizing, nutritious, and well-balanced meals that cater to the daily dietary requirements and special needs of each resident.

Additionally, the culinary specialist:
• Adheres to standardized recipes.

• Prepares meals in accordance with menu cycles designed by registered dietitians.


• Cooks or prepares visually appealing, well-presented, and nutritionally adequate meals in appropriate quantities, ensuring they are served at the correct temperatures and within designated time frames.

• Utilizes food supplies and equipment efficiently to minimize waste.

• Prepares and maintains food alternatives to accommodate resident preferences and meal refusals.

• Oversees culinary staff regarding food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and sanitation.

• In the absence of the head chef or dietary manager, supervises the culinary center's personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• A minimum of one year of experience as a cook in an institutional food service environment is preferred.
