Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing a range of skilled tasks and supporting activities related to the upkeep of facilities and vehicle fleets. This role encompasses the maintenance and enhancement of designated facilities, utilities, and equipment repairs. The technician will assist Specialty Maintenance Technicians and contribute to corporate initiatives and specialized projects.
Primary Responsibilities
The essential duties for this role include:
- Assisting with various maintenance and building enhancement tasks as directed by facility or fleet management.
- Ensuring the proper upkeep and maintenance of facilities, utilities, and equipment.
- Utilizing a variety of hand and power tools pertinent to building maintenance and restoration.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in peak operational condition.
- Diagnosing issues and troubleshooting equipment; repairing defective equipment related to the restoration sector.
- Supporting the Fleet Manager with vehicle fleet tasks and maintenance as required.
- Keeping accurate records related to assigned duties and completed work.
- Assisting in the onboarding of new staff; facilitating the setup of workspaces and tools for new team members.
- Complying with health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Providing assistance for projects linked to Fleet and Facilities.
- Carrying out other related responsibilities as necessary.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician position requires:
- A high school diploma, relevant technical training, or equivalent experience.
- A valid driver's license.
- Completion or progress in an apprenticeship program and/or two years of experience in maintenance or construction trades is advantageous.
- Experience with power tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to adapt to diverse environments and job demands.
- Skill in fostering and maintaining productive working relationships.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work Environment
Conditions for this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ascending and descending stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
- Reaching overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Traveling to various facilities as needed.
- Potential for overtime, after-hours response, and weekend work.
