Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist II to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Radiology Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of standard radiographic procedures in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing their needs and providing patient education.
  • Perform radiographic and/or fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Demonstrate skills for IV placement and injection of contrast materials.
  • Operate computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images.
  • Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Enter and properly complete all patient information including exam charges and supplies into the Radiology Information System (RIS) and/or other KP application.
  • Prepare films for interpretation by the radiologist in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to unique needs of the department and respond appropriately.
  • Communicate abnormal situations to proper sources in a way that facilitates resolution and/or tracking.
  • Actively engage other health care providers (radiologist, ordering practitioners) to ensure quality, continuity and appropriateness of care.
  • Follow department procedures/processes/policies.
  • Practice safety measures in radiography by adhering to all governing regulations.
  • Follow universal precautions, infection control guidelines and sterile technique.
  • Comply with all governing regulations.
  • Stock and clean exam rooms/work areas.
  • Take rotational call for after hours facilities and is responsible for coverage if unable to take call.
  • May be responsible for clinical instruction of student technologist.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Apply the professions code of ethics in all aspects of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: One (1) year as a Radiological Technologist.
  • Education: N/A.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Basic Life Support, Radiologic Technologist Certification.

Additional Requirements:

  • General knowledge of EH&S, OSHA, DHR, Radiation Safety and Protection.
  • General knowledge of exam protocols.
  • Basic PC (keyboarding & navigation) skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
