Job Summary

This is a 2nd Shift role, the work schedule is: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10:15pm Eastern Time

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of set up and operation duties to ensure cushions fit container configurations.
  • Work from part drawings, bill of materials, assembly drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. Maximizes stock usage. Performs activities necessary for layout of sub-component construction and assembly for a variety of first-time and repeat insert requirements.
  • Set up and perform basic operations utilizing equipment such as vertical, horizontal and profile saws, die cutting press, and glue applicators. Selects stock and cuts sheet stock to proper dimensions and tolerances.
  • Use computer network to bring up file at Water Jet. Sets adjustments, pressures, etc. according to charts, tables for foam type and dimensions. Operates Water Jet to obtain proper cuts and pieces. Checks parts for acceptance. Resolves and/or brings to attention of group leader, supervisor cut file problems and to attention of cut file programmer.
  • Lay out and glues foam sub-components and components for final assembly through lamination operations.
  • Perform self-inspections on completed assemblies.
  • Maintains established quality and quantity standards. Follows prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Maintains daily production and other records as required.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1-2 years manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to use a tape measure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hot melt gluing applications.

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
