Service Director

Gpac is partnering with a reputable equipment company to find a skilled professional for the role of Service Director. As a key member of the team, you will oversee the scheduling of technicians' work schedules and approve time off. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of management experience or a combination of 5 years of diesel repair and service management. The company offers competitive pay and benefits.

Service Director Responsibilities:

  • Develop contracts for contractors with ongoing equipment rentals or purchase needs
  • Train Service Staff using best practices in customer satisfaction and brand promotion
  • Establish and maintain a priority system for scheduling all service work, both customer and internal
  • Manage work order systems, including invoice logging, and generate service invoices
  • Ensure timely completion and filing of manufacturer warranty and Product Improvement Program claims according to manufacturer's requirements
  • Schedule and assign job and work areas to employees based on their skills and knowledge
  • Ensure the Service Department has the necessary tools and service equipment is available and maintained in good working order
  • Recommend the purchase of service vehicles, maintain vehicles, and complete required maintenance records
  • Coordinate dealership training programs and service-related customer clinics
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times, inside and outside the dealership
  • Monitor metrics on a monthly basis to ensure achievement of departmental goals
  • Perform other functions or duties as directed by management in line with the objectives of the dealership

Service Director Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED required (Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 3+ years in a Service Manager Position or background as Service Tech/Mechanic
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, sense of urgency, and handle people and pressure
